About this project:

Iain McKell, photographer artist has spent the last year following with a tribe of all female cult, eco warriors in a communal warehouse in Tottenham, London. The epicenter of this new British subculture mushrooms out to a psychedelic band of extended friendships and consequential similar underground urban counter cultural dwellings in London and other UK cities.

Iain is fascinated with the individuals that make up this fierce female tribe. In this world gender uidity rules – the women are in control of their sexuality and the men they invite in. However feminism is not what unites these females – instead there are activists with a passion for saving the planet, creative recycling and partying hard does.

The project shows a collaboration between Iain and The Sisterhood’s own art projects, documented and interpreted by Iain. The project intimately captures warehouse living, secret illegal forest raves, trips to the coast and free dipping in a secret London river. Showing an independent all girl army making protest to the troubled planet through there new sub culture and counter culture DIY fashion styles and art practices.
